 Donny Weaver – Class of 2024 – Albert S. Tuffs Award

 The Albert S. Tuffs Award is reserved for individuals who have provided significant contributions to the sport while demonstrating continued support of registered skeet shooting. The Award honors those who have made a significant impact on skeet shooting in North Carolina. Donny Weaver embodies those traits to a “T”.

 

  • Donny is a Life Member of NSSA with more than 128,000 registered targets to his credit at the time of his induction.

  • A “Lean In to Help” king of guy, Donny has served as President of the NCSSA several times, holding the title for more than 8 years overall. Additionally, he has served as Vice President, Secretary or Treasurer multiple terms and has in effect, held an office in our state’s association for more than two decades. He currently serves as our Parliamentarian, which in addition to the roles outlined in our bylaws, anecdotally includes being among my best sounding boards.

  • Donny was instrumental in introducing computerized scoring to many clubs in NC. He has worked and trained staff on the Velerio Skeet Manager program.

  • Among his greatest contributions to skeet has been his support and promotion of youth shooting in North Carolina.

  • He has many years managed the NC Junior State Championship and remains committed to doing whatever it takes to make shoots run smoothly.

  • Along with his wife, Priscilla, Donny remains active in generating support (financially and beyond) for our youth shooting.
